four is fun!!
Hello sweet girl! I am writing this on NYE while you take a quiet time playing with your dolls! For your birthday, you really wanted a boy doll and a wedding dress for your girl doll so you could have them get married. You didn't mention fancy clothing for your boy doll, but i think you realized you wanted that pretty quickly haha. oh well! you went and got donuts with dad in the morning and we had eggs and sausage and pineapple. you got to open your gifts- a bird puzzle from Jo, some glow in the dark frozen stickers from june, some playdoh from zeke, and a playdoh vet kit, new hooded towel, lots of playdoh, and your boy doll from mom and dad! we had alberta and her mom over to play and you just played playdoh the whole time, but they gave you some fun costume jewelry too! you got a facetime call from grandma and grandpa and oma and opa! and then we called birth mom and she showed you baby Michael walking all over which made you smile! you requested mac and cheese for dinner, so we are doing that with some veggies! simple bday. you didn't want a beach hotel trip or a party or any activity- you just want to go shopping haha. so i will be taking you out and we'll get you a hot chocolate and you have a target gift card from Christmas that you can spend and maybe we will hit up a few other stores and shop around and let you pick out a few fun things. what a sweet request- your sisters never asked for it before so it surprised me. i'm excited for our one on one girl time and to see what you want to shop for!
you are so much fun at four! you're finally finally fully potty trained so that is a huge deal! but you like mom to stand there while you pee and you often throw a fit if i ask you to just use the bathroom by yourself haha. you typically poop just once a day and they are GIANT like how did that come out of such a tiny body?! i'm just so glad it isn't in your undies anymore ;)
you cut your own hair this year because you were sick of your bangs being all in your eyes and it actually wasn't too terrible...we took you in for your first real hair cut and they fixed it up. it is actually quite nice not having to pull it back at all. i've been trimming your bangs, but your hair is getting longer in the back so not sure how we'll grow it out from here. you look pretty cute with the thick bangs and your hair seems to grow down onto your forehead pretty thick, so it might be your style for a while! you love to wear clips in your hair and often put in like fifteen of them at once- so funny.
You love to sleep with Johanna- most nights I find you next to her in her bunk bed and it is precious. She complains that you sweat a lot so we have to keep you in cool clothes though haha. You have your own hallway bedroom now and you do sleep there sometimes which is nice when you take a nap and then will be up til past mom and dad's bedtime so the other kiddos can go to sleep haha. You will nap if we force you by putting you in our bed, but we pay for it come bedtime so we do it sparingly now. also, when you go to bed, you NEED to have a water bottle and plenty of books...or there are lots of tears ha.
You have the cutest little high pitched voice. and you are still pretty hard to understand sometimes. ha like grandma sandee won't let you spend the night at her house all by yourself because she doesn't know what you're asking for. I have to ask you to repeat often and will even say "I don't know what you mean" and you can usually figure out another way to explain it. but you get frustrated about it for sure!
you love to color now! You will sit for long periods of time and just go to town and you are starting to add so many cute details. Like I can tell when you make people or a sunshine and it is so fun!!! The funniest detail is how you make all the boys anatomically correct hahaha. You also love to paint and always paint the entire page with thick paint- even though we only have white, black, and brown hahaha. we need to buy more, but i am making us use up the old ones all the way first. you are quick to volunteer to use them up! you also love play-doh and looove to mix the colors much to the chagrin of your big sisters. You are pretty artsy! I should really help you do more arts and crafts.. but alas, 4th kiddos and my energy goes to homeschooling over helping you with art haha. thank you for being such a happy spirit and just LOVING doing your own art without me making it special at all. also thank you for making the best drawings ever. i am going to keep so many of them forever and ever.
you got a grandma date a while ago and she took you out for pink spoon and you only wanted plain vanilla with NO toppings haha. you are very aware of when the big kids are getting special things like grandma dates and make sure you get your turn too!
You ADORE all your siblings and you are so good with them all. like you really play with them! You were playing hide and seek with Zak today and it was the cutest. you were really hiding pretty well and he would look for you and you'd both crack up when he found you and then you'd run off to hide again. it makes me so happy knowing you all have each other for life. i pray that your siblings with be some of your closest friends throughout life and that you'll do life together- like really really do life together and raise your kids together and just LOVE each other. you love to play with Zeke too- deep imaginative play- usually about wild kratts ;) you play so nicely with the girls too- you'll play families and you get to be the mom sometimes because Jo loves to be the toddler haha. really you don't play with June by yourself very much, but you enjoy her in group games. I hope you two get closer this year!
Let's see... you go to bsf and are in the same class as zeke and it is fun to hear the teachers talk about how he is so tender with you- like he will sit right by you and hold your hand and could you two be any cuter? oh ya you and ezekiel got "married" this year hahaha. your big sisters dressed you up and set up a whole ceremony- we took pics and video. someday, i am sure it will end up in your wedding slideshow! Zeke will be such a good husband, so he is giving you nice high standards for when you start dating ;)
You have a strong sense of fashion. you love dresses and wear the same few over and over and over. you look very beautiful in them! you got a pair of frozen boots for Christmas and now that is all you'll wear for shoes ;)
You are SO much fun at four, Ellie girl. We love seeing your big personality start to really shine through and seeing all the love and joy you bring into our lives. You are so special and we are so so thankful that we get to raise you and teach you and be your favorites <3 thank you for loving us and for being such a sweet little lady. I pray that the Lord would bless your life- that you would deeply know Him and love Him and that through your life, many will come to know the Lord. I pray for good health and lots of learning this year. and most of all, so many giggles and so much playing with your siblings, and so many hugs and read alouds and snuggles with dad and me. we love love love you!
